Bob Goldsack
AUTHOR ROBERT (BOB) GOLDSACK was a carnival and circus fan all his life. Born and raised in Plainfield, New Jersey, he had the good fortune of seeing railroad carnivals and circuses. He visited World of Mirth Shows from the first time he could remember until its last visit in 1961, except for four years of Naval Service during the Korean War. Graduating from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. Bob spent 25 years at the Courier-News, a Gannett daily newspaper in Plainfield, New Jersy, rising from copy boy to advertising director. He later served on the corporate staff of the Thomson Newspaper Chain for several years, and then he represented Metro Services, a supplier of artwork to newspaper advertising departments. He founded Midway Museum Publications, Inc. publisher of books on the topics of outdoor entertainment. He started the magazine “Midway Journal Illustrated” published for 4 years. He spent a few years as editor of “The White Tops” the official publication of Circus Fans Association of America (CFA). He was also the founding editor of “Carnival Midway”, the bimonthly magazine published by The Carnival Historical & Model Builder Society of America. He was author of seventeen outdoor entertainment books.
